Good Ol' You Tube and WIKIpedia

Long before (early 90's) You Tube and Wikiped we had radio and basic cable, and Star Wars was hugher than ever. There are two parodies that are great and were played on KISS FM all the time. These Parodies are Star Wars Cantina and Weird Al's Yoda Song. Well Wiki explained why I could not find the Star wars Cantina until now:

Mark Jonathan Davis, later of Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine, made a parody song of Barry Manilow's Copacabana, called "Star Wars Cantina". Davis used the melody of that song; his lyrics are a rough outline of Star Wars Episodes 4 through 6. The song received significant radio airplay, along with "Weird Al" Yankovic's Yoda, in the run-up to the 1997 release of the Star Wars Special Edition VHS box set and the 1999 release of The Phantom Menace. "Star Wars Cantina" is often erroneously attributed to Yankovic.
The song was not released on CD due to copyright troubles.

I have been trying to explain this song to people but a video was never made and I could not find the "tape" I recorded it on. Now we are in the technology age and i found it. I hope you enjoy it as much as i do.

Design the Perfect Pink Dress for Mariah

It seems I have Won a Mariah Contest. NO not this GRAND prize seen in the link above. Darn it.

Details:
Mariah Carey is looking for a Luscious Pink Dress and wants you to design it. The singer is searching for a glowing dress to go with her new fragrance, Luscious Pink.

The entries will be judged by Carey and a fashion expert panel, who will then pick their favorite design. Then the winning dress will be brought to life and three will be custom-made. One Carey will wear at an event, another will be made for the designer's collection and the final dress will be auctioned off at a charity benefiting breast cancer awareness.

I entered a few entries, and just for entering I won a weekly sweepstakes. The prize is her new fragrance.....WOW!!! I just saying to myself recently, I never win any kind of sweepstakes and to win a MARIAH CAREY one makes my world. And it's her new fragrance.....So Excited.

Merry Christmas from Mariah.

Ok He's on my list....

I recently have been watching the TV show Las Vegas reruns on TNT and came to realize that Josh Duhamel is both a Handsome man and and adorable guy with a pinch of coolness, wrapped inside awesome acting. Next to The actor Adam Baldwin (serenity, Chuck, fame) Josh is also a guys guy, a sold masculin actor.

You may know some of Josh's work, Like Transformer, Turistas.....He got his start on the soap opera "All My Children" with I did watch when he was on. Good Stuff.

I am so angry that NBC had Canceled "Las Vegas" early this year without having a series finally, major lose ends left open. All the Fans are in an uproar over this. This is an awesome show...its like hour long mini movies. Anyhow, add one more to the list.

Duchovny, Micheal C. Hall, Adam Baldwin, Josh Duhamel...

Ooops she did it again...

The first single, "Womanizer", became Spears's first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 since her debut "...Baby One More Time", almost 10 years prior. The second single will be the title track "Circus", it was announced the same day as the track listing and album cover on October 31, 2008.

The album sold 219,000 copies in its first day of release in the U.S. And 18,319 copies in its two first days of release in France, peaking at #5 in the French weekly album charts. The album sold 219,000 copies in its first day of release in the U.S. And 18,319 copies in its two first days of release in France, peaking at #5 in the French weekly album charts.

Seen it

Well, I went to the mall near me and seen the latest, biggest movie among 13-17 year old girls. But hey Love is love any way you tell it. Yes, I am talking about Twilight, the Vampire movie. Overall I loved it. But if you want to get nit picky. There are some vampire myths that I can't just get with, with this version of a vampire film. But, granted it is for the youngster.

First of all, well lets bullet theses points:

1.) They never show there FANGS
2.) Their bite is just a regular human bite.
3.) They can turn humans into vampires with venom (not the traditional you suck me, I'll suck you)
4.) They never sleep, not even at night, they just come out more often in rainy and overcast weather.
5.) If they come out in the sun they are the most beautiful being you've ever seen, their skin is sparkling like diamonds. Yes, sparkly.
6.) and lastly, they have abilities like read minds, and see future etc. one had a unique sense of smell for humans.

Some of the myths this writer did not change, which I am glad:

1.) speed
2.) Strength
3.) Vampires can feel when the one they love is in trouble and race to help. This is the parts I liked about this type of vampire genr. The forbidden love aspect.

Yeh, it was corny at some parts, but I still liked it for what it was given the PG-13 rating.

State of Emergency

Sylmar -- Full electrical service was restored to the entire city of Los Angeles 25 minutes after rolling blackouts were implemented because of the brushfire in Newhall Pass, officials said today. The Mid City, Crenshaw, Harbor Gateway and Sherman Oaks areas were cut out of the Department of Water and Power's grid at 9:40 a.m., but service was restored there by 10:05. The Los Angeles fire department said it received numerous reports of people trapped in elevators in those sections of Los Angeles today, and traffic began backing up on at least one San Fernando Valley freeway. Traffic on the Ventura (101) Freeway backed up at the Van Nuys Boulevard interchange due to failed traffic signals on nearby surface streets. The Department of Water and Power said that it would institute rolling blackouts to reduce load on its system, as power lines in the Newhall Pass area were taken out of service as the fire burns through the area. Major transmission lines and switching stations were surrounded by flames in Newhall Pass for several hours.

The one time we move to Los Angeles, we get caught in the middle of wildfires. Not very healthy. We may have to evacuate...hope not. Makes one think of a planning a survival kit and a plan.

Well it finally happen folks... dun dun dun... I find a gray hair. California Wine Month

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared September “California Wine Month” for the fourth consecutive year. The one time restaurateur (anybody remember Schatzi on Main?) pointed to our state's wine community as “one of the largest and most successful wine producing regions in the world.”

"Every bottle of California wine served across the globe reflects our excellence and serves as an ambassador for our fantastic lifestyle, cuisine and culture," Schwarzenegger proclaimed.

As further proof of this belief, Schwarzenegger has also lent his support to the historic partnership between the Wine Institute and the California Travel & Tourism Commission (CTTC). The Governor recently appeared along with First Lady Maria Shriver in a national TV commercial promoting the state's wine and cuisine offerings.

At dineLA we agree that California wines are a defining feature of our colorful culinary character. They inspire our chefs to create some of the freshest, most inventive dishes in the world, and challenge our diners to develop sophisticated palates on par with those in the other great food cities around the globe.

In celebration of these facts we’ve teamed up with American Express to bring you wine & dineLA, two weeks of sensational wine pairing menus presented at over 40 of LA’s top restaurants, September 7 – 21, 2008. What better way to celebrate California Wine Month then with some of your favorite local chefs?

So savor a Paso Robles cabernet sauvignon in Santa Monica, sip a Russian River Valley pinot noir in Long Beach, or indulge in a Santa Barbara Viognier in Hollywood. Wherever you like to dine, and whatever you like to imbibe, LA has the perfect combination of ingredients to make the most of California Wine Month.

Side Swiped this weekend

We decided to leave the safety of our home to enjoy this beautiful weekend weather. We went to Downtown Burbank on Sunday and caught a movie at the AMC and walked the streets to check out the stores. On the way home we decided to got to Islands for dinner (up at porter Ranch).

We never made that dinner date. We just got off the freeway (Balboa exit) and we (Travis was the driver) were about to merge to the far right turning lane on Balboa to turn onto our street, Nordhoff. All was clear until we started to change lanes, this jack-hole in a Blazer came almost 60ph trying to cut us off, because he couldn't wait for the traffic to move, he was going straight but decided to use the right turn only lane to cut us off.

He took the bumper and the two lights in the front. We barely could get it home, the plastic wheel wells were scraping the tires. Maybe plastic car was a good purchase, because it only took the bumper off not scrapped the whole side of the car.

Here is the Bumper. When we took the car to the shop the girl there ask "where's the bumper" I quick wittily replied, "its in the back seat"

Here are my dreams being crushed by passing cars. We drove into the nearest drive way, which was a 7-11. As we parked we see car run over the pieces. Lucky the guy wasn't suck a prick and stopped to exchange info, he was apologetic because it was his fault. He did ask if we were OK, only just before he wanted to leave. Ho Hum..

So now I am driving this hearse to school. It runs beautifully but it looks a little weird with the small windows and feels a little claustrophobic. It makes me feel a little paranoid. Its cool for the time being. On a scale from 1-10, i give it a 4 1/2......don't recommend you buy. I can't wait to get my baby back.

WELL...

Let see I seen a lot of movies this summer. And yes the X-files was by far the most anticipated film for me, but definitely not the best summer movie (as critics may say, but I will defend the joy it gave me).....Iron Man still holds strong, while Wall*E runs a close second. There were other fun misc film such as Wanted, Indiana Jones that were fun and entertaining.

Choosing Gifts are Tough

Well, I thought about it and I don't think I ever had a theme birthday. I felt sad when I realized that. So to coincide with my love of "THE VOICE". I felt I should have a Mariah Theme party. Her favorite colors are Pink and Purple and likes Butterflies. Gifts don't matter to me, just gatherings, but here are some ideas.

I don't have this album (CD) at all. Her first Album "Mariah Carey"

I don't have this album (CD) at all either. Second Album "Emotions"

I have this album, but I played it so much it scratched. Pre-Ipod days. Now I am ready.

Available at fine department stores in early August (Macy's). I take I owe you's on this item.

This is also great, any size is welcome. LOVE IT.

Also stuff like this would be cool, shirts. I found this on Amazon. She has accessories at Claire's. I don't have any of those.

other GIFTS FOR MOM:

She needs her Neil on CD.

Backwoods Barbie is here latest album 2008.

Those where the days was her 2004 release.

Also, gift cards to Walmart , Michael's, Aaron Brothers would be good for both Mom and I support our craftiness. Thank you and goodnight
